HydroFlam is an MUF-glued, fire-retardant chipboard that is extremely well suited to structural applications in damp spaces. The board only displays minimal expansion and swelling under the influence of high relative humidity.
HydroFlam has powerful fire-retardant characteristics (European classification B-s2, d0). Fires in the board go out by themselves and do not continue to glow after the source of heat has been taken away. Furthermore, HydroFlam retains its mechanical strength for a long time in situations involving fire.
HydroFlam can be applied in both service class 1 and 2 (limited temperature and relative humidity) and is suitable for biological hazard classes 1 and 2 of EN Standard 335-3. Protection against direct contact with water is required.
HydroFlam is the best performing wood-based panel on the FR build product list.
HydroFlam is suitable as a structural board in applications where low reactivity to fire and flame spread are important (roofs, walls, stairwells, exit routes, lift shafts, corridors, ) and where a higher resistance to fire is required (fire doors, fire walls).
Use the recommended tools when sawing, milling or drilling HydroFlam boards. Fire-retardant products may cause deposits on tools and shorten service life. Bear in mind that the fire retardants used can influence the gluing and decorative finish of the boards.
Unilin Panels offer solutions for flame spread, flashover, smoke development and burn through time that meet the most stringent fire standards. The fire-retardant products of Unilin Panels are CE marked and regularly inspected by national and international agencies. Certificates and test reports are available upon request.
